FAQ
Does it handle polyphones correctly?
A built-in dictionary resolves common polyphones by word context, e.g. 银行 reads yínháng and 行李 reads xínglǐ. For rare isolated characters without context, the most common reading is used — full sentences give the best results.
What output formats are available?
Four modes: with tone marks (hào), plain (hao), tone numbers (hao4), and first letters (h t l). Separators can be space, hyphen, or none.
How are non-Chinese characters handled?
English letters, digits and punctuation pass through unchanged, making it ideal for batch-annotating mixed Chinese-English text.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser with an embedded dictionary — your text never leaves your device.
